Welcome to Smallwoods Lawyers

Our practice on the Northern Beaches has experienced solicitors and support staff who are dedicated to providing high-quality legal services to family and commercial clients.

Our principal areas of practice include:

We aim to provide our legal services promptly, efficiently and cost effectively.

Richard Smallwood started the legal practice now called Smallwoods in 1976 after working in the Sydney CBD with firms mainly in the areas of finance, commercial property, business and company law and divorce/family law/de facto law.

Richard established the law practice at Dee Why on the Northern Beaches of Sydney and in 2009 moved the practice to new modern premises in Brookvale which provides more convenient access for clients. Richard has kept the legal practice at a small boutique level to ensure that personal attention is provided to clients by experienced solicitors to ensure legal services are delivered in a cost effective and practical way.

Clients of Smallwoods benefit from Richard’s experience in handling work in these areas for over 35 years as well as holding a Diploma in financial planning.

Most of Smallwood’s legal work comes from referrals from existing clients and personal contacts, but the practice is willing to assist new clients who appreciate the quality and prompt attention their legal problems deserve and will receive at Smallwoods.

Richard is now assisted in the legal practice in the areas of divorce/family law/de facto law, conveyancing/property law, company/small business law, wills and estate planning as well as local government law by two experienced senior solicitors, Elizabeth Campbell and Lynette McDermott. Both Elizabeth and Lynette have gained extensive experience in their fields with Sydney CBD firms prior to joining Smallwoods.

Elizabeth assists mainly in the areas of Conveyancing, Finance Law and Business Law, the administration of Deceased Estates and Probate matters.

Lynette assists mainly in the areas of Family Law and general litigation.

Although the solicitors at Smallwoods concentrate on particular fields of law, all solicitors at Smallwoods are capable of undertaking work in all areas of the law undertaken by the firm.
